Children & Young People Services

Involvement Support provides flexible, community-based services for children and young people aged 0–18 who need additional support at home, in the community or alongside education and health services.

Many of the children and young people we support experience emotional, behavioural or communication challenges, often alongside learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs. Families may feel overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. Our role is to provide calm, structured and consistent support that helps reduce distress, build confidence and promote stability over time.

Our aim

Our aim is to improve quality of life for children and young people while supporting families and professionals to develop sustainable, joined-up support.

We focus on:

  • Stability and predictable routines
  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Building positive relationships
  • Engagement with education and community life
  • Supporting families to feel more confident and supported

How support is delivered

Support is always tailored to the individual and may include:

  • One-to-one support at home or in the community
  • Support with routines, transitions and boundaries
  • Helping children communicate their needs safely and effectively
  • Developing emotional regulation strategies
  • Encouraging interests, play and positive activities
  • Supporting school attendance and engagement
  • Working alongside families to create consistency across settings

Support is reviewed regularly and adapted as needs change.

Our approach

We look beyond behaviour and focus on understanding the wider picture, including social, emotional and environmental factors that may be impacting the child or young person.

By working collaboratively with the child or young person, their family and involved professionals, we develop proactive strategies that support self-regulation, reduce distress and promote positive development.

Working in partnership

We work closely with:

  • Parents and carers

  • Social workers and care teams

  • Schools and education providers

  • Health professionals

Partnership working ensures support is consistent across settings and aligned with wider plans, helping children and young people experience continuity and stability.
