Behaviour Support & Positive Practice

Supporting people through understanding, consistency and calm responses.

At Involvement Support, we recognise that behaviour is a form of communication. When someone is distressed, overwhelmed or unable to express their needs effectively, behaviour may escalate. Our role is to understand what is driving that distress and respond in ways that reduce risk, build safety and support long-term wellbeing.

Our approach is informed by Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) principles and trauma-aware practice. We focus on prevention, understanding and skill development, rather than punishment or control.

Safety and dignity

Where behaviour presents risk, we prioritise:

  • The safety of the individual and others
  • Least restrictive, proportionate responses
  • Clear guidance and confidence for staff
  • Learning, reflection and review following incidents

Our aim is always to support individuals in ways that protect dignity, promote understanding and create lasting positive change.
